Never pad your list with items you don’t own or inflated values. You don’t want to rely on your memory when you have to make a claim. Get into this habit to keep your inventory current, while the details are fresh in your mind. #Home inventory insurance update#Update your inventory whenever you make a significant purchase. You may want to purchase additional protection in the form of Personal Article Floater policies. Also, homeowners’ policies generally limit the amount of coverage on such items. Valuable items like jewelry, furs, silver and artwork may have increased in value since their purchase date. The best practice is to have multiple copies, either physical or digital, stored in multiple places.ĭiscuss big-ticket items with your insurance agent. If you have a digital inventory, keep a copy on an external storage device or online storage account. If your list is a physical document, keep the original inventory and receipts somewhere secure, off-site, where they’ll be safe if a fire or natural disaster destroys your home. Store the inventory in a safe place off-premises. Take advantage of free trials and read the reviews: some are particularly well suited to people with large collections or especially valuable items. #Home inventory insurance android#There are dozens of home inventory apps for Apple and Android phones. Describe the contents, either by speaking or by taking notes, including the date acquired/purchased, the items shown and their location.Īnother option is to use an app. This type of record can be especially useful for items like clothing or kitchenware. The song is also a great example of how well this era’s tracks have aged: “N.O.” is still a staple in concert and award show performances seven years later. If your inner teenager doesn’t relate to that, I don’t know what to tell you. BTS is trapped in a futuristic, dystopian classroom, ultimately rising up to overtake their evil, militant teachers. BigHit Entertainmentīut styling aside, the video for “N.O.” actually rips. ![]() #When did bts debut fullWhich brings us to the confusingly titled O!RUL8,2? (This may look like someone just smashed their head on a keyboard, but when you say it out loud, it makes sense: “Oh, are you late too?”) Heavy on eyeliner and energy but light on the fully realized sound of BTS eras to come, O!RUL8,2? peaked with lead single “N.O.” and B-side “Attack on Bangtan.” Unfortunately, these early albums are also full of skits, and it’s my prerogative to remove a few points every time I have to sit through any dialogue.Īesthetically, this era’s concealer-covered lips, giant chains, and bowl cuts are … tough. (Also, these early albums still hold up!) But this is a ranking, and by definition something has to be last. I won’t be too hard on BTS’s early eras, because growth and improvement are necessary parts of any career. Screenshot via NBC Screenshot via NBC The Eighth-Best BTS Era: O!RUL8,2? (2013) Lead single: “N.O.” I’ll also work in some mini rankings throughout, because if we’re gonna do this, we’re gonna do it right. Oh, I have so many thoughts about the styling. With that in mind, let’s order these eras from least best to very best-there is no such thing as “worst” when it comes to BTS-based on everything from song quality to music videos to styling. #When did bts debut seriesMany fans prefer to break down BTS’s body of work by “era” instead, a blanket term that refers to the entire promotional period of a series of interconnected albums and singles. Even the albums themselves can be hard to discuss on their own-you can’t really rank each individual release, because the K-pop industry’s tendency to repackage and rerelease albums means that after a certain point, they’re nearly indistinguishable as separate offerings. Everyone has their favorite: Some people ride for Love Yourself some think the overwrought, baroque excellence of “Blood Sweat & Tears” will never be outdone some people thrive on nostalgia and will defend Skool Luv Affair until their dying day and yet others think BTS outdoes themselves on every single comeback, knowing their new favorite era is always the one around the corner. It’s a common debate, one not easily answered. And so I pose to you today’s question: Which era is the greatest in BTS history? Since BTS has clearly chosen this moment to take a long, sentimental look at their past, it’s time we do the same ourselves. 2” there’s “ON,” a possible callback to 2013’s “N.O.” and there’s “Respect,” which is obviously a sneaky Parasite reference. There’s “We Are Bulletproof: The Eternal,” a continuation of 2013’s “We Are Bulletproof Pt. ![]() And while all of this reminiscing might seem wistful or even a little funereal, the tendency toward nostalgia has been prompted in part by the group itself: Based on the recently released tracklist, theories abound that BTS’s upcoming album will be an exercise in self-reflection, containing various callbacks to past releases, as the group retraces their steps and wraps up this chapter of their lives. Seven has always been an important number for BTS, also referring to the number of members in the group: RM, Suga, J-Hope, Jin, Jimin, Taehyung, and Jungkook. ![]() ![]() When BTS’s Map of the Soul: 7 album is released on Friday, it’ll be the culmination of seven years of record-breaking, history-making releases by the ultra-popular Korean pop group. ![]() ![]() ![]()

What if I had not eaten in that restaurant that night, or sat next to Athena’s family? I am filled with a truckload of gratitude for all who have helped this book come to life. I truly believe in the process and the gift of a writing life with all its mysteries and wonder. #Whats the rumpus windowsIts sparkle and power feel beyond perfect. Though I am no longer with the agent that sold the manuscript, it helped that someone else believed in this story and that she sent it to the right editor at Capstone. And because of Covid and how trucks showed themselves to be such a vital part of our economy, I dusted off the manuscript and added in back matter about what might happen in just a few days if trucks stopped service as well as an author’s note. This was manuscript number 52 out of more than 120 at the present time. The manuscript went through countless revisions, picture book revision with Harold Underdown and Eileen Robinson, picture book boot camp with Jane Yolen and Heidi Stemple, and many views by critique partners. ![]() In this publishing business, timing is everything. It will be released ten years after the spark of this story began, and the title is now changed to Trucker Kid. So we chatted, exchanged information, and I began my journey into writing this story. My writing brain ignited and within a few minutes of sitting down, I knew I wanted to pen the picture book, Trucker Girl. As a writer, I had become more attuned to listening, to looking for stories. We sat quite close and Taos is a small town and of course, my daughter, who was a midwife, knew this family. They were having a very sophisticated conversation about a trucking trip little Athena took with her dad. ![]() And on this particular night, it was the universe’s design that we were seated next to a family of three, a three-and-a-half-year girl old with her parents. Everyone is incredibly tense due to recent events, and because the group dynamics are always shifting, there’s no real leader - no Rick Grimes to keep things in line.Īs a result, all of Clem’s impactful choices from prior tales (mostly in episode two) really feel like they carry weight at this point in the story. Many people are quick to dismiss Kenny, but I’m glad Telltale brought him back - especially since he is a “witness” so to speak of Clem’s new metamorphosis.Īnother concept that comes up constantly in Amid the Ruins is the “others” phenomenon and the pack mentality - not just by way of new characters, but within the group itself. Some of his tendencies from season one return, and have caused some tense moments that are a stark contrast to the warm and loving welcome you received in the second episode. Kenny is a focal point as well, and I’ve really been enjoying his arc this season. Even the most menial of conversations are worth listening in on, and I genuinely liked hearing what these characters have to say to each other. It recalls moments from The Walking Dead‘s Lori Grimes, and once again throws a nuanced spin on the “for the good of the group” mentality. ![]() Rebecca’s pregnancy has also reached a critical point, where she is consistently having trouble keeping up with the rest of the group. I never saw it coming, but she’s probably one of my favorite characters yet, and adds to the big picture “duality of humanity” narrative without rubbing it in your face. I really enjoyed learning more about her slowly over the course of this tale, as she opened up about her past, present, and future. Part of the reason this tale is so interesting is the true incorporation of Jane into the mix - a character who has given off a real wildcard vibe since the last episode. It’s probably the most stressful portion of the entire episode, and a really interesting way to kick things off before things cool down a bit. You’re still not out of the herd that gathered in the last episode, and you have to make a series of quick choices immediately. ![]() One of the most intriguing aspects of Amid the Ruins is the fact that you start off right in the thick of it. Rig: Origin Millennium: Overclocked Intel Core i7 4770K Quad-Core (4.0GHz-4.7GHz), Dual 3GB NVIDIA GTX 780 Ti Release: J(PC, Mac, PS3, PS Vita) / July 23 (Xbox 360) / July 24 (iOS) The Walking Dead Season Two: Amid the Ruins (iPad, iPhone, Mac, PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, Xbox 360) ![]() That hook right there is what makes Amid the Ruins such a great tale, even if it doesn’t have the same wow factor as its predecessor. Clem has made the switch from tough to full-on badass depending on your choices, and it’s clear that she is fully a part of some of the horrific life-or-death choices in the world.Ĭlem can no longer hold onto her innocence and fall back on her young appearance - at this point, many decisions have been made that cannot be taken back, and the rest of the group is starting to notice it. ![]() What is part of your persona, people feel entitled to opine about. Readers feel entitled to "know how it ends" At some point, after enough nosy inquiries, people would end up writing some fairly opaque explanation about "Blue Eyes and I went our separate ways." The respectful thing for a reader to do, of course, would be to let it go, to understand that people break up, and if the person wanted to write about it, they would. ![]() Somebody would be writing about a boyfriend called Blue Eyes for months, and then nothing. It was even harder, I think, for people who were dating. Where was El Hubbo? Sick? Were they separated? Did something happen? Where are Floofy and The Crasher? Are they living with you? And people would start to leave it in the comments: Where's El Hubbo? They would get more aggressive and more intrusive: Are you and El Hubbo still married? Why wasn't he in the story about your vacation? ![]() I cannot tell you how often it happened that someone I knew had been talking about El Hubbo for years, and then all of a sudden: no El Hubbo. And one of the first things they learned was that when you thrive as a storyteller about your own life, people begin to feel entitled to know everything. So did single people who wrote breezy, almost Carrie Bradshaw-like diaries about this and that, jobs and dating and what have you. When you thrive as a storyteller about your own life, people begin to feel entitled to know everything. A lot of people made their early reputations as online writers with that kind of thing. You would really, really begin to get the sense that you knew all these people as you heard the stories about their travels and their home repairs and their struggles with parenthood or whatever. For instance, a blogger might write under the name LucyBear (I'm making this up, so don't attempt to Google this person), with a husband referred to as El Hubbo (people did stuff like this, I'm so sorry) and kids referred to as Floofy and The Crasher. In early blogs and online journals, pseudonyms were very common for the people in your life, and even for yourself. So obviously, this revelation about cheating was an issue. Fulmer is what people refer to as a "Wife Guy," a guy whose public image is very much centered on his loving relationship with his wife. At one place where I worked, the phrase "stick it in a blog" was used as a kind of eye-rolling acknowledgment that if you have so much to say about something, go make yourself a space to say it.īut this week's drama about Ned Fulmer of the YouTube outfit The Try Guys losing his gig after he admitted to cheating on his wife with an employee of the show (catch yourself up with this useful explainer if you must) also emphasized the ways in which YouTube contains elements of 2003-ish blog culture and journaling. It was the culture of a quick take, a chance to see a writer's fresh thoughts on a weekly (or more frequent) basis, and it was independence from traditional publishing. Seeing blog culture in Substack and other newsletter platforms isn't difficult. "Here is some writing, here are some links, here is some information." That was also the mission statement of a blog, particularly in the more "journaling" incarnation, as opposed to the "rolling succession of tiny posts that were really just links" incarnation. ![]() As someone who had not just one blog but several in the late '90s and early aughts - and as someone who originally came to NPR to write one about pop culture - I have found it fascinating to see blogs boom, and then bust, and then be reinvented as newsletters essentially indistinguishable from blog posts. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() (Photo by Peter White/WireImage)īut for every romantic look came a tailored one to match, something Vassar and Brock noted was a big focus for the Southern Californian brand moving forwards.
